In 2012 SPAZIOFMGPERL’ARCHITETTURA celebrates the fifth year of its public activities to share projects and topics that represent the best architectural research and practice. The yearly programme, curated by Luca Molinari and Simona Galateo, is opened by the guest exhibit by Elias Redstone, ARCHIZINES, a passionate survey of more than 60 alternative magazines, papers and fanzines debating and experimenting on architecture from 20 different countries. The exhibit, to leaf through and read, is hosted in Milan after its début in London at AA – Architectural Association School of Architecture which is also co-producer of the project.
BREATHE IN! / RESPIRA! NEW URBAN ECOLOGIES offers an insight on the best environmental policies of the “green” European cities which have been acknowledged the European Green Capital Award: Stockholm, Hamburg, Vitoria-Gasteiz and Nantes. The exhibit invites Milan citizens, that for the first time face the Area C restricted traffic zone, to look at the daily habits and at a selection of architectural and design projects that help to better the quality of city life.
COSTRUIRE SECONDO NATURA #3 – ARCHITETTURE RECENTI IN ALTO ADIGE 2006 – 2012, features a selection of projects in Trentino Alto Adige, one of the most vituous region of Italy in terms of sustainability supported by the local government. The exhibit, curated by Flavio Albanese and produced by Merano Arte, displays 36 projects built in the five Alto Adige valleys.
On the occasion of Milan Design Week, VERTIGO. EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN FROM FAR EAST focuses on three well-known authors of the Eastern contemporary architecture: Gary Chang, Barrie Ho and Mok Wei Wei. The FuoriSalone exhibit develops around the vertigo icon that symbolically represents many newly founded asian cities, through videos, installations and contributions by the three architects.
ANTONIO CITTERIO PATRICIA VIEL AND PARTNERS displays the new generation working spaces designed by the Milan-based studio while DAVID CHIPPERFIELD ARCHITECTS. THINKING PAST, in cooperation with David Chipperfield Architects, is an analysis of the recent restoration projects in Italy by the British architect; the Rivellino fortresses of Castello Sforzesco in Milan and Villa Da Porto Barbaran in Montorso.
