Let’s think to Bergamo, its architecture, beloved and unexpected places, parks, the mountains pressing behind it, and the great plain that opens before it. We can no longer stop at the postcard, imagining a city as a fixed scene, because every urban environment is an organism that changes daily through the action of all the living things that inhabit and transform it. The city is a living body that intercepts and assimilates the economic, social, cultural, emotional and symbolic dynamics that determine its future fate as well as its present form. Each city is the sum total of its individual and collective histories, its buildings and natural environments, its geography and climate, and the work, choices and dreams with which it is imbued.
